Adrian Peterson Feels He Will Definitely Break Dickersons Rushing Record

After Adrian Peterson nearly broke Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record in 2012, he has set his sights on surpassing that mark in 2013.

With five days until the season begins, the Vikings’ all-world running back isn’t relenting.

In an interview with ESPN’s Bob Holtzman, Peterson showed pure confidence in his prediction that he’ll break the single-season rushing record of 2,105, set by Dickerson in 1984.

“I feel like I will definitely break it. Yeah, I’m going after it this year,” Peterson proclaimed.

Last season, Peterson came within a mere eight yards of Dickerson’s record.

“I look back on that play, so many different things after the case, like man maybe I should have cut inside or if I would have broken one more tackle, I could have gotten that record,” Peterson said. ”It was there to take, it just wasn’t meant to happen.”

Peterson will begin work on that record Sept. 8 against the Detroit Lions in their season opener.

Do you think he will break Dickerson’s record this season?
