Essence recently opened up about motherhood to RollingOut Magazine. She said, “Motherhood is a constant reminder of the miracle of life. Daily I am witness to a literal first time discovery and my spirit is convicted of the fact that I too am just beginning.”
Essence and husband Jamie Mendez married in 2009. The couple welcomed their son in December of 2011.
