
At least 78 of the train’s 218 passengers are said to have been killed and up to 131 injured, when all eight cars came off the tracks. This marks the worst Spanish train accident in 40 years. A driver has reportedly said the train was traveling around 118 mph — that’s more than double the designated speed limit.
