Okyeame Kwame was born on April 17, 1970, as Kwame Nsaia-Apau. He is also popularly known as the Rap Doctor and comes from Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti region. Apart from rapping, Okyeame also sings and writes songs for other artists. His other talents include acting and loves participating in philanthropy. He is married to Annica Nsaia-Apau who also doubles down as Okyeame’s manager. The Rap Doctor has five other siblings, and according to his parents, their son was to become a doctor as opposed to a rapper.

His two younger brothers, Kwaku Nsiah Boamah nicknamed “Flowking Stone” and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah nicknamed “Kunta Kinte”, also perform as a duo, under the brand name “Bradez”. Growing up, Kwame’s parents expected him to become a Physician, yet he gained interest in rap music from a very young age, when he wrote his own songs and performed at local shows since his days at the Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi .
