At  least 160 people were arrested in massive acts of civil disobedience throughout St. Louis on Monday afternoon, including several prominent activists of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

Cornel West, DeRay Mckesson, Johnetta “Netta” Elzie and Kayla Reed, were among 57 protesters who were arrested during a sit-in at the federal courthouse in St. Louis. The protesters blocked the entrance to the federal building as part of a series of planned acts of civil disobedience to commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo.

Later in the afternoon, another group of protesters, lead by youth activist group, Millennial Activists United, shutdown highway I-70 in both directions.

There were a total of 110 protesters arrested during the demonstration, although some were immediately released according to sources.
