The first family is enjoying vacation on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts one last time before saying goodbye to the White House. President and First Lady Obama were accompanied by their daughters, Sasha and Malia, while heading out of Washington D.C. by way of Marine One. The first family sported outfits fit for summer and appeared happy to get away from the hustle and bustle that is Capitol Hill.
President Obama has been quite busy campaigning with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The commander in chief endorsed Clinton in June and told the nation that he was excited to be on the campaign trail. “I want those of you who have been with me since the beginning of this incredible journey to be the first to know that I’m with her,” Obama said. “I am fired up,” he added. “I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary.”
President Obama will finish out his final term as commander in chief on January 20, 2017. He and First Lady Michelle Obama will remain in Washington D.C. until their youngest daughter, Sasha, finishes out her high school years. The couple’s oldest daughter, Malia, will begin her freshman year at Harvard University next year. The Obamas are spending their time on Martha’s Vineyard at the family home owned by Joanne Hubschman off North Road in Chilmark.
