Tina also watched Second City Television at 11 years old, and she looked up to actress Catherine O’Hara as a role model. She started going by the nickname “Tina” from a young age. Even in middle school, Tina already dreamed of becoming a comedian. During high school, Tina joined the drama club and contributed to the school’s newspaper, where she practiced writing comedy with a satirical column. After graduating from high school in 1988, Tina went to the University of Virginia. There, she focused on studying to be a playwright and an actor, and she did so well that she won a Pettway Prize for her academic achievements. In 1992, Tina Fey completed her studies and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama.
