    Direct Entry; 3-Year Diploma In Early Childhood Education (DECE) , 3-Year Diploma In Primary Education (DPE) , 3-Year Diploma In Junior High School Education (DJHSE), 3-Year Diploma In Mathematics Education , 3-Year Diploma In Science Education Applicants Must Possess One Of The Folowing;

    UCC DECE, DPE, DJHSE, 3 yr. Dip. In Maths And Science Minimum Requirements For WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

  • The Minimum Admission Requirements into the University of Cape Coast is aggregate 36 for WASSCE applicants and aggregate 24 For SSSCE applicants.
  • WASSCE Or SSSCE applicants must have credit passes in six (5) subjects with overall aggregate not more than aggregate 36 for WASSCE  and not more than aggregate 24 for SSSCE.
  • Three of the Five subjects must be core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three must be in relevant electives.
  • For purposes of admission, a credit pass in WASSCE means A1 – C6 and a credit pass in SSSCE means A – D.

  • Applicants with General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (obtained not more than three years ago) must, in addition to credit passes in five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level subjects (including English and Mathematics), have, at least, two (2) passes in relevant subjects.

  • Applicants with the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) results should have credit passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) relevant elective subjects.

    Holders of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)/ International Baccalaureate (IB) must possess at least Grades A* or A-C in English, Mathematics and Biology at the Standard (SL)/’O’ Level, in addition to three Higher Level (HL – A to C)/’A’ Level (A to D)/IB 2 (A to C) grades in the relevant subjects.

    Applicants for 2 Year Bachelor In Basic Education (BBE), Educational Psychology (BEP), Educational Foundations (BEF) must possess :

  • Diploma in Psychology and Foundations of Education/ Diploma in Basic Education / Diploma in Early Childhood Education awarded by UCC or an acredited institution.

    Applicants for  2-Year Bachelor Degree In Mathematics Education (BME) must possess :

  • A minimum of pass grade (A1-C6) in English Language, Core Mathematics and Social Studies or Integrated Science. Applicants are also required to have a minimum pass grade of (C6) in any three elective subjects.

    • UCC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS PROGRAMMES – DIRECT ENTRY 

    UCC Minimum Requirements For 3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE (ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE OPTION) 

    Applicants for 3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE (ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE OPTION) must possess any one of the following:

  • Professional Accountancy Certificate with a minimum of Part 1 of either:
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana),
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants,
  • Association of Certified Chartered Accountants,
  • Institute of Bankers,
  • Ghana Accounting Technicians Examination (GAT) and Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA).
  • In addition to the above, applicants should possess passes in Mathematics and English. 
  • WASSCE minimum pass grade (A1-C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects including Accounting or strong mathematics – related elective.
  • SSSCE minimum pass grade (A1-C6)(A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects including Accounting or strong mathematics – related elective.
  • General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) and RSA Stage II with a minimum grade D in 5 subjects including Accounting, Business Management, English Language and Mathematics.
  • Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) and RSA Stage III with passes in three (3) subjects including Financial Accounting and Economics with grade D or better. In addition applicants must possess passes in English and Mathematics with grades C6 in WASSCE, D in SSCE or credit (6) at ‘O’ Level or better.
  • London Chamber of Commerce (Intermediate) with three passes in subjects including Financial Accounting, Economics and Management. In addition applicants must possess passes in English and Mathematics with grades C6 in WASSCE, D in SSCE or credit (6) at ‘O’ Level or better.
  • G.C.E. ‘O’ Level with a minimum of 5 credits in 5 subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Financial Accounting.
  • G.C.E. ‘A’ Level with passes in Two (2) subjects including Accounting with grade not lower than D. In addition to credits at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level in Mathematics and English.

    • UCC Minimum Requirements For 3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE (MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, MARKETING AND PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OPTIONS) 

  • Entry requirements are the same as the entry requirements of Diploma in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) stated above except that the subjects should include Commerce, Office Administration/ Practice Business Management and other related disciplines.

    Applicants who do not meet the specified requirements for Direct Entry into the above distance learning programmes can gain admission to the programme by passing a Mature Entrance Examination (MEE) to be organized between 13th February 2019 to 5th May (Saturdays and Sundays only) and 20th April to 5th May (Stay-In mode) at selected Study Centres. Applicants can choose the weekend mode or the Stay-In mode.

    UCC Minimum Requirements For Mature Applicants / Candidates Admission

    Applicants seeking admission as Mature Candidates must possess any one of the following:

  • Minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE (D7, E8 or E) or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level Certificate
  • NVTI Certificate
  • Holders of NABPTEX Certificate or Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) Certificate awarded by the Technical Examination Unit of GES.
  • Applicants should have a background in the preferred programme.
  • Should be at least 25 years old by 30th April.
  • Applicants should attach copies of birth certificates that are at least five years old at the time of the application.
  • Applicants who do not have credit passes in English and Mathematics at either WASSCE/SSSCE or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level would be required to register for and pass examinations in those subjects.
