About Update On NPP Presidential Primaries
- The NPP presidential primaries, on November 4, 2023, involves the participation of four aspirants vying to lead the party in the upcoming 2024 general elections. They are, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
- 203,439 delegates will vote at 331 polling stations and 274 voting centers.
Regulations to be followed during the elections:
- On the day of voting, there will be no gathering. It’s important to emphasize that voters are prohibited from wearing clothing in the color associated with a candidate, such as T-shirts featuring an aspirant’s image, including caps or posters, on the voting day.
- Delegates are not permitted to enter the voting area in groups or pairs. Voting will occur in an open, public location, visible to all.
- Once a delegate has cast their vote, reentry into the voting area is not allowed. Any individual found instructing a delegate on whom to vote for will be considered in violation and will be removed by the police.
- Following the completion of their votes, all voters must promptly leave the designated voting areas. The Electoral Commission (EC) and the police are responsible for ensuring that all delegates comply with the stated rules.
- Taking photographs of one’s vote is strictly prohibited. Those attempting to do so will be apprehended by the police, and their votes will be confiscated.
