  • The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held the Presidential Primary on Saturday, November 4, 2023. This primary involved the participation of approximately 203,439 party delegates from all corners of the country as they exercise their voting rights to choose the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, who will lead the party in the 2024 elections.
  • After the official announcement of the primary election results by the Electoral Commission, there will be a gathering at the Accra (Ohene Djan) Sports Stadium. During this gathering, the newly elected Presidential Candidate will be introduced to the public. The event will be attended by prominent individuals and the complete party leadership.
  • In addition to this, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be present at the event to express his support for the newly elected candidate.

  • According to the provisional results at time time of creating this post, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the NPP flagbearership race 2024 with about  61.43% of total votes cast. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is therefore the flagbearer of the NPP for the 2024 Presidential Elections
  • The 2024 NPP Presidential Primaries featured four candidates, 203,439 delegates, 331 polling stations, and 274 voting centers. The four participants were Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (the Vice President), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong (Member of Parliament for Assin Central), Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie (former Food and Agric Minister), and Francis Addai-Nimoh (former Member of Parliament).
